Interesting. My Grandma never had indoor plumbing (Southern Indiana) so the O.H. was a familiar facility in some of my life.

On the AT, if you get caught between sites with facilities, and the #2 urge hits, I find it extremely difficult to carve out a 6 to 8 inch cathole even with the titanium dig trowel. After the first 2 inches of digging I always run into impossible-to-cut roots and big rocks... plus by the time I've found a spot up high and way off the trail, the urge is closer to an emergency. lol .... maybe its age or diet, but more likely the town food I ate the day before :)

then there was the particularly perplexing case of the constipated agnostic dyslexic, who would sit on the toilet for hours, wondering if there was a Dog.

...or the equally perplexing case of "Glow-worm" who brown-blazed in 2009 refusing to use privies or the great outdoors no matter how long it took to get to town. He also refused showers.

I can see that, there are many momma boys that never grow up. I have a friend that only uses the stalls in the mens restrooms. After 3 years he took a leak outdoors while we were hiking and I told him I didnt know he was capable of standing up while peeing lol. Always thought something was wrong with him from a freak accident or something lol
