Have you guys ever use 50 50 cotton wool blend and if you did how well did they work out for you.
Like on the A.T.

No cotton for insulating layers, as it is worse than useless when wet. Merino wool, silk, or synthetic.

The cotton layer is to reduce itch and scratch. Merino eliminates the problem.
Merino. Icebreaker is good.

Merino wool works well.

works well for nighttime sleep wear but not a good bet for hiking in. with so many better options out there its not really worth the weight.

I like the synthetics. You can wear them in the rain and they will dry quickly while wearing them at camp.
