I met a young hiker this year on the AT who was cooking a groundhog over an open fire. He caught it in a snare. Smelled good. I wonder if it was Phil?

How often does winter not last until mid March? At least in the mountains. I camped in single digits and a snowstorm in Harriman once, in mid April.

Well all of Phil's cousins up here saw their shadows this morning, a nice sunny 10F.
Those that weren't already smart enough to sleep in another 6 weeks anyways.

Speak for yourself, I've got skiing and I've climbing trips coming up.

Besides, I refuse to allow a paranoid rodent with an inflated job title to have any influence on climate change :p

Rather wake up with Phil on the grill, than with Al any day. Hurry Spring!

It was Gen. Beauregard Lee, emerged from his Georgia Gwinnett County lair only to be chased back inside by his shadow, and getting it wrong!

Folks better hope for a real winter with snow before Spring comes.

Going to be a lot of dry springs and creeks in the Northeast otherwise.
