31.7 miles. I have a 7YO and I would be unsure about taking her across blood mountain. The section between Neel and Unicoi isn't bad. Springer to Woody may be a better choice.

I would choose Springer to Woody, but one hard climb in that section is Sassafras Mtn., otherwise mostly flat to downlhill hiking. Woody to Unicoi, you have more ups and downs. Are you going to be backpacking or day hiking?

It all depends on your son, is he an avid hiker and likes being outdoors?

Call Wes Wisson for a shuttle. I highly recommend him and have used him. Very prompt and reliable . 706-747-2671. He's in Suches.

Keep in mind the 5 mile no camping zone Jarrad Gap to Neels Gap starts 3/1.
