I am looking at ultralight shelters that are fully enclosed (bug proof) and remember a tent that is basically a trecking pole supported tarp with a bug mesh hanging below it - even the floor is bug mesh. Also the seams are taped, so no seamsealing is need. The weight is right at the 1 lb point and I am considering this one for my thru, perhaps will switch to it in warmer weather as it seems it can be drafty. Can someone direct me to this tent.

Also if anyone has a good alternative the above let me know.

Thanks

This one (http://www.tarptent.com/sublite.html) is 20 oz. Gossamer Gear used to make a one-pounder called, appropriately, The One, but nothing shows on their website right now, it's under redesign. For a little more weight, the Tarptent Contrail is a good tent for a good price.

Zpacks, Hexamid solo. It's on my list. Hopefully, I'll get mine ASAP. Good luck

I find my "the one" gives better weather protection that my hexamid. It only weighs ( after sealing ) 18 oz, about a 2oz penalty compared to hexamid with cuben ground sheet, and it packs smaller too. I end up taking it often because it packs smaller, and I dont worry as much about damaging it.

Joe used to make a full inner net tent to be used under the hexamid, its not listed now but Im sure he would still make it if desired.
total wt was about equal, just not nearly as much room to move around.
But, the inner net could be used in shelters if desired, suspend from a rafter, to keep bugs and mice at bay.

Glad you found it. I just picked up pre-owned version. My regular Hexamid Solo, with no extended beak, a Tyvek ground sheet, and eight not-so-ultralight stakes, is 17oz.

The trekker is much more than 1 pound.

The trekker is much more than 1 pound.

Yup..it's a good 1.5lbs. It's still a super lightweight tent, but not quite a pound...

Some times the extra weight is worth it. I tent every night, never use shelters.

Not a tent, but an enclosed tarp. Total with everythibng is 15 oz. Suffers from some really bad condensation, but it is all about tradeoffs...

I'd go with the zPacks Hexamid Twin with bug net and beak in Cuben fiber. That way you shouldn't need a bivy sack as you might in the Solo or any narrow tarp, plus you get more interior room for your gear.
