There was a nice carbon fiber hiking pole set for sale at Costco today for $27. Poles are adjustable in length, come with snow basket, mud basket, rubber feet. The poles felt quite light, and the cork handles were quite comfortable, comparable to my Lekis. Manufacturer was listed as Cascademountain, I believe.

I just found the web site describing these poles: http://www.cascademountaintech.com/category_s/222.htm. I see that the site says they will be at all US Costo stores in mid-March, but they were already at mine today.

Thanks for sharing the link, Louisb. Give some insight on the use of the poles. Good for causal hikers...probably not recommended for a thru-hiker or heavy section hiker, though.

I personally use the Black Diamond CF poles and really like them. Worth the coin to me but for someone strapped for cash those seem pretty nice. Unfortunately, every time I check at the Costco near me they are out.

I went with sort of a middle-ground and got some REI Traverse poles. They're solid and durable but are not the lightest things in the world (9.55oz per pole). Love them so far!

i actually have some of these Costco hiking poles. Have used them several times and plan to take them on a thru hike this March.
They seem to be decent hiking poles.
But, I don't expect them to last the whole way!
