I'll be doing this section and wonder if someone will be on the trail? My guess is it'll be cold and wet and just about nobody will be around, but let me know.

That stretch is well traveled in April. You'll see plenty of day hikers weekend hikers and section hikers

It's cold and wet, but we hikers are crazy. I'm planning next week to do AMC North West Camp via Bear Mountain to Jug End, with a return on South Taconic Trail, and hoping that my snowshoes can stay in my truck. You'll run into people in April.

Maybe I'll do this section southbound as a shakedown for a longer hike in May, but I doubt it. I'll be too busy planting my garden.

thanks for everyone's comments. I plan to use shelters when timing/distance works out. Hopefully the snow will be gone by then :)
