I lifted this from Groundpounders TJ entry for today. "... As I lyed there alone in the dark I kept starring at the bear spray wondering how it worked. I was already well armed with my hiking poles converted into spears on my right(JK) my Swiss Army knife blade out on my left and the shelter broom as back up by my head. I couldnt sleep so on came my headlamp and playing with the bear spray came soon after. HMMM pull this pin, slide lock back point and spray. Well (by mistake) spray I did all over the shelter wall. I coundnt get out of my sleeping back fast enough I mean I couldnt get out at all! Seconds later my eyes, throat and nose was burning. Great I had successfully pepper sparayed myself! I do not recommend it. Quite an end to a tough day 3. I can hear the other hikers now had anyone witnessed that my new trailname would be "mace"

How does one accidentally spray themselves with bear spray? its hard enough to spray the stuff on purpose :screwy:

He's lucky he didn't fall on his open knife in the process of jumping around, or his trail name would be leaky.
