Hello hikers!
Wow, everyone is getting really excited about the class of 2013! Who is posting video blogs of their hikes on YouTube? We have found a few hikers already posting gear videos etc and hope to find more and following along with their adventure. And also want to repay some 'mail magic' to hikers on the trail this year I could not have done the trail without all the help in 2012. Good luck everyone and post up!

I am going to try.. I plan on taking vid/photos. I don't know how easy it will be for me to upload on a regular basis, seeing as i'm not a person with much money, ie; wont be staying in to many furnished establishments featuring the interwebs. as well as having a half-broken camera. my chances seem slim-to-none. Hey,Loner, I hope you and Wildcat are having a great year. Sassafras(my 13 year old daughter) and I are flying into Atlanta 3/20/13 tostart are NOBO thru hike.
Wewill posting video blog updates in a format very much based on yoursfrom last year. New updates will be added by my wife about every twoweeks when we send her a memory card with video clips and picturesthat she will put together in 4-5 minute video's. We will besupplementing these with short video's taken and then down loadedfrom our fancy new smart phone (I never thought I would have spentthe money on a fancy phone).
Iknow your are already subscribed to our channel, but Sassafras hasasked me several times if you will be watching her video's, sheenjoyed yours so much last year.

I can only get a month off work, so sectioning from Springer to Hot Springs. You, FM, and biophthera inspired me to not only pursue the hike, but attempt a vlog. Just hope I can find places to upload in Hiawassee, Franklin, NOC, Fontana, and Hot Springs.

Hey Loner, after watching all your videos it made me want to do it to so my friends and family can follow along, plus I think it would be a great thing to have to look back on after I'm done. I'm leaving some time in march.

Hello everyone. I will be uploading to youtube. I will be tracking the entire journey on a backpackers gps. I will be marking waypoints, and tagging gps coordanance with photos, video, and audio journal. Can upload even from the remotest locations thru gps even if no mobile networks are available. I am thru hiking NOBO and plan to start hiking on april 1, 2013. Look forward to meeting all of you on the trail. Happy hiking!!!

I will be starting a SOBO in mid-July. Here are the links to my YouTube channel and Trail Journal. As a long-time backpacker who has dealt with chronic Lyme disease (mis-diagnosed for a number of months, and treated for about a year and still have continuing chronic symptoms), I will be trying to raise awareness of this fast spreading epidemic and sharing accurate facts about prevention and early detection and diagnosis. Loner, your vblog was a huge inspiration for this idea. My first entry in my Trail Journal has a link to your YouTube channel by way of explanation of the power of social media to share the fun and adventure of a Thru-hike, but also to share important info to protect public health. Thanks!

I go to school at UK, well graduating in May. I'm going SOBO early-mid July, hopefully Ill see you out there.
