Seeing that some still think recovering fuel from the 10-12 stove,( the one from Trail Designs/Caldera Cone system) is difficult to do , I shot a 1 minute 30 sec version of how I do it.Cost ;about 3 c of aluminium foil
Preparation time :15 sec

Thanks Franco (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/member.php?7635-Franco), I believe I was the one who questioned it that you may have been referring too, so I thank you for your very timely response. I do think the Caldara cone is a great design and highly efficient, though I still like to look at trying to improve things, and while the method you state works, as well another I have seen, I still like to explore other solutions such as different stove designs.

I think this might get the fuel out of the stove a little easier. i use mine to reclaim the unused fuel out of my brasslite stove. just squeeze bottle insert the small hose into fuel and release your grip on the bottle and it sucks it back into the bottle.

I pour it into the lid of my ti pot then into thr bottle. Thrn burn off the remaining fuel from the stove and lid then wash the dishes. Am I missing something that makes this a bad idea? It works very well.

How do you extinguish the stove? The lid I have is not well suited collecting, and it is often moist from cooking which I would think would dilute the fuel.

I extinguish the stove by setting the pot or lid directly on it.
