View Full Version : My Sheltowee hike
God never put a town in a better place than McKee, Ky. I'm about 125 miles in and a winter storm hit just as I got into town. Hiked 16.5 miles in a monsoon yesterday to get here.
Now I have a 25 mile roadwalk to bypass 3 fords that are unsafe until this weekend according to a local hiker.
Awesome hike so far, Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State park are highlights.
Zero day today.....

Great trail! We slept in some of the natural caves during our trip to avoid rain.
Enjoy and drink an Ale 8 for me

Glad to know you are going ok. I was worried about you on Friday night and Saturday nights. I was in Ky at my daughters when it started to snow and I said 10 K was out there. Then I had to explain.

This is why I don't hike with you. Clouds and weeds seem to follow your path.

He's now past I-75 and is past the half-way point; he's hiked over 170 miles in just 8 1/2 days which included a zero because of the rain. He'll have warm weather with sunshine the next 3 days at which point he'll reach Big South Fork.
Taking the day off in Whitley City on the edge of Big South Fork. 66ish miles to go. Rain tomorrow then clear for the finish. Great hike, great trail.
