Mid-May Hike thru the Smokies

Going from Fontana to Davenport Gap or vice versa mid-May. 72 miles
Planning on an easy hike celebrating doing this 40 years ago when I was 13. My buddy just backed out on me so just looking to hook up if anybody is interested. No speed hiking maybe 12 miles per day depending on shelter status.
I've got a food drop scheduled mid-week.
Driving in from Memphis.

If it were mid-June, it would sound perfect, but I should be a mile up a volcano in Ecuador around mid-May.
