View Full Version : Winter hiking on Mt Washington video

Another link to a video taken on the AT heading up Mt Washington in the winter. The Crawford Path is the AT From Mt Pierce to Mt Washington. The downhill Amonusuc Ravien trail is the main route to Lake of the Clouds Hut. This is not my video (I was feeding GrayJays up on the Hancocks nearby)

There is generally not a lot of snow on the ridge but it is about 4 to 5 feet deep below treeline in spots.

Nice video, great quality, love the music. Some great stuff coming out of the Whites from our fellow VFTTer's this winter!

awesome video. why is he wearing snowshoes? too cumbersome

One minute you are on bare rock and the next minute you can be head deep in a spruce trap, the snow shoes usually win out. Plus in loose snow you can take longer strides than barebooting it and its actually less work. The down side is that its hard onthe snowshoes
