The time has come. I am flying from Boston to Atlanta with my 13 year old daughter (sassafras) to our NOBO thru hike. We got the call from Leigh from the Hiker Hostel to confirm our pick up time. We both can not wait to get started.
We hope to meet many of you on the trail

Hi Mainebob,
Was looking at your blog yesterday thinking that you would be leaving soon and wanted to send you and your daughter well wishes! My father and I will be right behind you but doubt we will ever catch you. Sassafrass seems like such a strong, young hiker! Hopefully the two father/daughter teams from Maine will have the opportunity to meet up!
