I am in the market for a down bag rated in the 15 - 20 degree range. I am 6'3", weigh 220 and a side sleeper with my knees slightly bent. I would like to stay under $400.00. Any suggestions before I head out. Retail selections are few in my area.

Appreciate any feedback...

Mont-bell super stretch or now I guess it is the super spiral. I sleep on my side and love how the bag moves with me.

I second the Montbell suggestion. I am 6'2" 220, and the Montbell long is a perfect fit. I have a #3. UL down, and a #0 burrow synthetic.

If you search around you can find the #1 ul on sale for less than $400.

How about a quilt?

I'm 6'1", 165 pounds, and move around quite a bit while sleeping primarily on my side. I have a Marmot Helium Long which has quite a bit of room to move around in. I got the bag on sale for less than $300 although the normal price is around $400.

Very realistic price range. Nemo makes a new line of "spoon-shaped" bags that are designed specifically for side-sleepers. www.nemoequipment.com
Quilts are another option, and in my opinion, they better allow movement for us side/stomach sleepers. I like mine. You'll wait for one for a while if you order from Joe (www.zpacks.com), but the people at Katabatic (www.katabaticgear.com) or even Tim (www.enlightenedequipment.com) may have something in stock for you. These quilts have been highly lauded here on WB.
