I'm planning a 3-4 day hike from Bland to Pearisburg, VA. I've got the transportation worked out, but wanted to check on the trail/shelter conditions and water source locations. Has anybody done this section and want to recommend a good itinerary? I do want to stay at Wood's Hole the 2nd or 3rd night. Thanks!

It would help to say when you want to do this hike.

if you find the need for a transportation back-up plan, try don(out of pearisburg)---540-921-RIDE(7433)

I just finished the VA 606 to Pearisburg section late last week. Only a few blowdowns - nothing that got me frustrated. The descent from Angels Rest was a little muddy but my boots were able to get good grip and keep me upright.

I stayed at the Wapiti Shelter and Wood's Hole. No problems with getting water anywhere in-between. Dismal Falls were flowing very strong and were worth the side trip.

And Don Raines is indeed a good shuttler if you have the need.
