Not on my hike, but almost every night where I live ;)
I am better than most with geography, but will admit I had to google up "NU" Canada.
How very cool that I can now lay claim to corresponding with someone from there!

Not on an AT hike but, does anyone remember when we had them at the ALDHA gathering at Dartmouth at the Friday night campfire?
(I think it was '97 but not sure)
Had them on the CDT in '98.

I have seen them, 2 nites in a row, 1991, Bob Marshall Wilderness, Montana:)

Not answering the poll, because I haven't thru-hiked, but yes, I've seen them several times from the Trail. Once with the tail of a comet shining through them - awesome!
