Canister availability om AT thru

I used alcohol for my AT thru attempi in 2010 and didn't pay much attention to canister availability. AS I am now considering cannisters for my 2013 hike, are canisters readily available in hostels, small stores, etc?

Very easy to find south of Virginia. But just like services on the trail canister availability tapers off the farther north you get up until New England. You can find them, but you just have to do more planning.
