We are 2010 thru-hikers that will be in the Georgia/North Carolina area on March 30th and will be setting up some trail magic. Haven't exactly nailed down a location yet but am thinking somewhere between Unicoi Gap and Highway 64 in Franklin...Trying to remember good road crossings where we can set up a tent for food. Suggestions?

Hightower Gap so you can drive hikers to Mountain Crossings to buy the cold weather gear they should have brought in the first place.
the hiway at Dicks Creek Gap outside Hiawassee... can't recall the road # now, but there's parking there, room for a tent for food.... great spot for trail magic, shuttle rides, juggling, massages, psychological counseling, motivational speeches, selling real estate, BBQ, 3 card monty, mymes, concerts...

don't forget the giant feed at Browns gap april 26-28
Though farther to the South, I received some great trail magic at Burningtown gap. The trail crossing is a nice grassy field, which was a great place to setup and camp. The gap is located about 12-13ish trail miles south of the NOC.

UPDATE: Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we will be setting up trail magic at Winding Stair Gap US 64 on Saturday March 30th. We plan to serve pasta and sauce (with and without meat), rolls, and assorted breads. (plenty of carbs, right?).
