I just finished vacuum sealing my MH freeze dried chicken, how long will it stay good now that it is out of the can? I stuffed the vacuum sealed chicken back into the can with it's oxygen remover packit in the can too, and put it down in the cellar so it stays cool. I'll probably use up all this chicken over the next six or seven months on a couple of section hikes I/we have planned.

I do the same thing, break up a number 10 can into 1 cup servings and seal each one individually. As long as the van seal is ok I have had them last up tp two years.

I'm not sure the oxygen absorber packet is still good after the extra exposure. If your can absolutely air tight so that new oxygen cannot get into the can? Even without the oxygen absorber, I'd expect the repacked chicken to be fine for that length of time.
