Every year I like to live vicariously and follow a few thru-hiker journals. My favorite last year was 'Loners' Youtube video journal series.

This year 'Acorn's' Wordpress blog has caught my interest. She just started hiking today and seems to have a great writing style. Hope she keeps the updates coming. Here is her blog...

I will be following Balls & Sunshine CDT attempt once they start also. (Although their journal has become just one endless ad for their sponsors). I enjoy journals that share thoughts and feelings over just reporting the daily grind of miles and physical challenges.

Have you found any quality thru-hiker journals this year that you can recommend?

Thanks, Scott

Thanks for posting acorns link - subscribed. We also really enjoyed following loners videos. I'll be sure to add anything interesting I come across here.

I found Jess C's (Stretch's) trailjournal over a week ago. She seems to update fairly frequently and is very positive - a fun read.

Search TJ for Rash and also for Journey (this is her second thru hike). Two great reads. Also, a guy whose name is escaping me now but is a Vietnam vet who is using the hike to honor the people he lost during the war.

Trailmovin is the vet:

Thank you Aquaman12. I have added 'Hitch Hike' to those I will be following. They have made it so far though some tough conditions.

Always look forward to following a couple of people each year on the AT. I am following a few already, and while all trail journals are fun to follow, some people have a true gift in the way they write. April (walkingloon.blogspot.com) is one such person, and I look forward to following Acorn now as well.
