Hi everyone, I'm planning a 5 day vacation on the AT from Erwin TN to 19E going north. Is anyone from this area that would be kind enough to give me and my girlfriend a ride to our start point? I'm driving down from Pa and parking my car at the end, so leaves me scratching my head of how to get to the start. Or if anyone has ideas of how to get there, please post. Oh and of course we would compensate for your gas :)

thanks for the help guys!

You don't want to park at the 19E trailhead - park at Mountain Harbor.

I was going to contact the bed and breakfast up 19E and see if i can park there, i will also be booking a room there for our end of trip lodging.

when is the trip?

i live in knoxville so it's a bit of a haul, but if it can be timed around me squeezing in some hiking, then i may be game.....

other than that---take above advice and not park at 19E.....

Terry is the owner of Mountain Harbour. A great place to start or finish a hike. Make sure you stay for their breakfast. One of the best on the trail. Their number is 423-772-9494.

Not sure what they would charge for the shuttle but I would do it for $80.

As others have said Mountain Harbour is a good place to park at 19. Left the car there for about a week last year.

Make sure you are his first shuttle of the day.
Eat breakfast there the morning of the shuttle
You can pitch a tent in the parking area overnight the night before, or sleep in the hostel if theres room

When you get back to 19E, the hostel is maybe 150 yds west of the AT.

If you have time, Jones Falls is just slighty north of 19E off the AT and is worth a hike.
