Is Dicks Creek the only maildrop between Unicoi and Winding Stairs?

We will be hiking in late May and it would be nice to have a mail drop more near the middle of the trek than after a couple days. But we will take what we can get.

That is the only one and you would have to go into town to get it. I'm not sure what your pace is, but Unicoi to Dicks Creek is less than a day and a half for me. I would probably just push on through.

If you have a car, and are comfortable with your bear bagging skills, you may want to consider driving to Deep Gap NC via FS71, and leaving a cache a short distance away out of sight of others. Having said that, I think just carrying all your food the entire 60 miles makes the most sense.

Well , since you dont need breakfast the day you leave, or dinner the day you finish, you could do with a little less.
All depends on how many miles per day you intend to walk
