View Full Version : Going cookless?

The one thing I dread doing other than hanging bear bags every night is spending time boiling up water for food. I've heard whispers of people going cookless here and there but I haven't been able to find much information on it.
Has anyone ever gone cookless? What did you eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
I've heard you have to carry more weight when you go cookless but how much more weight?

I wish I could sort thru all the Whiteblaze threads on this subject, at least two prominent ones in the last year.

Any dehydrated meal will rehydrate with cool water... It just takes longer. It all depends on what you consider edible when cold. Logistically speaking there is no limitation, but your preferences and tastes may disagree.

Wrote a blog post on it a couple of weeks ago, too, if you somehow can't find enough information on WhiteBlaze. http://scrubhiker.blogspot.com/2013/04/mayo-jar-spork-kitchen.html
