Hi, all! Been carefully studying here and other places and have learned a lot, I think, from everyone's gear lists and comments. My turn: Planning about a 10-day section hike in Mid-June on the AT in GA/NC. This seems like a lot of stuff for a 10-day hike. What should I go without, if anything? Should I lose some of the clothes? Thanks for any and all (polite) advice and criticism!

Double up on sunscreen. SPF 50 minimum. I think a common size is 5 oz. That might last 10 days. Your clothes should be in the S to S dry bag. Food in plastic bags and a nylon stuff sack to keep it together. I like to segregate food in more than 1 food bag so the whole lot doesn't get lost/wet/ruined. Short of going on a mega-spending spree, I reckon you have done about as good as anyone can do.
Have fun!

Sleeping bag at 20 degrees would be overkill for me, plus it seems very heavy. I wouldn't use rain pants, especially this time of year. Happy hiking. :)

The liner is then over-overkill.

Hey, guys, thanks! I was already thinking about an S2S dry bag for the clothes, and no rain pants, so you made me feel better about it. On the bag, I agree it's overkill for June. Kinda stuck with it this time, though. I do like the soft, not-sweaty liner. I'd love more comments.
