Found a cheapo acrylic sweater in Goodwill - light, warm. Couldn't find any wool. Need it as a layer for cool hike days, around camp on my thru hike comin up (NoBo April 21). People have some input on how acrylic stands up in the great outdoors?
Thanks & Cheers

It stands up just fine. It's usually not the first choice of many, but it works fine. Most of the military sweaters issued nowadays are all acrylic. I was using one of the brown sweaters i was issued for quite some time backpacking until I found a nice wool one at a thrift store.
Should be fine. It may pill a bit, but will be serviceable for sure.
My favorite 'beater' sweater is an acrylic blend I wear for camping and the occasional very cold weather hike when I am car camping.
EDIT: I suspect iron belly and I use the same one! :D
