Some "Free" Kindle book deals don't last long. Some last a couple of days.

The idea behind the free book deals is to bump up the "sales" of the books so that they show up higher on the best seller list after you change the price back to not-free. I wonder what the sweet spot is for how long a book should be free to maximize the bump while minimizing the lost royalites. (Perhaps I should mention the problem to my wife for use in her Business Calculus class.)
