Will a titanium spork scratch a titanium mug?

Only if it has an itch.

Your titanium pot will get nasty, it won't stay shiny long.

Seriously there is titanium and there is titanium , same as with aluminium when you think about it.(that is : just as not all aluminium pots are the same , not all titanium stuff is the same either)
Anyway I have a few Ti pots and a couple of Ti spoon/sporks and yes they do scratch the various pots to some degree but not enough to make any difference unless you worry about cosmetic.

Ti is TOUGH metal. Don't concern yourself about such trivial affairs.

A harder material can scratch a softer material.

A softer material can not scratch a harder material.

If 2 items are the same hardness can one of them scratch the other? I was a high school athlete so I didn't have to pay attention in class so i don't have a clue. But anyone who stayed awake in Physics oughta be able to answer this.

Have you ever seen a rock worn down by water or wind? Hardness can give you an idea of the relative rate of wear in an encounter between two materials, but it isn't the whole story. Yes, a Ti sport can scratch a Ti mug. If you want unscathed gear, leave it at home on a nice, safe shelf in the original packaging.

And it depends where the itch is at. Too funny Chief.

the answer is yes.yes it will. without doubt it will definitely positively absolutely scratch the sh** out of it.itll be so scratched you wont want to show it at tupperware parties.
the bigger issue is getting the cheese off the titanium spork.

You would need to know the exact Ti alloy used in both objects.

What's not so trivial is finding my stolen uniquely scratched Ti pot.

how do you get the cheese off the spoon?

The spoon is the one piece of gear I put in my mouth. Seems to work.
