What is the Southern portion of the Long Trail like now, specifically, the section between Route 9 and Glastonberry Mountain? As I write this it is now May 10, 2013. I'm considering doing the loop hike Rt 9 to Goddard Shelter, then back via West Ridge Trail. Would I be advised to wait? any snow left? how muddy is it?
yes i know the GMC discourages hiking till Memorial Day but I'm wondering if that part of the trail may have dried up by now?
