Article in todays Waterbury Republic American states that the general store in Cornwall Bridge sold and that the current tenants have been asked to vacate by June 15. Unsure what will happen with the business.

Locals still call it Bairds Store. It always seems to do a good business so I have hopes it will continue to serve the hiking and biking community.

Something should get in there. There isn't another store for 5 miles in any direction.

Some ol' timers (like myself) still call it Monroe's - grew up about 4 miles away and went to school with one of the sons. :)
Hope it keeps up and running. Looking thru my notes, I had it rated as the BEST cup of coffee I had on the trail

Just talked to the ower of Bairds General Store and they are closed. He heard the new owners are planning an upscale restaurant.
I enjoyed a great sandwitch there in 2007. And was planning to resupply there this summer.
