View Full Version : Northern-most section of trail from West Suffield to Mass. line completed!
We finally got approval from a homeowner to complete the trail in CT to the Rising Corners Rd intersection. The new trail was cut in on Friday, 5/17/2013. The 2+mile road walk can now be skipped.
Is this the Tunxis trail?
It's the New England Trail (formerly the Metacomet Trail.
Thanks for this news, Eureka. I'm almost done with the Metacomet section - need a couple miles south of that road walk and am happy to hear I don't need to do the northern road walk, but rather can walk in the woods. How are the views on that section? I still also lack the southernmost end in Berlin from Chamberlain Highway to the Turnpike, much of which, too, is a road walk. At least the northern one's gone! :)
There are a couple of views. We had the last 1/2 mile new section marked but then a homeowner found that it went of their property alittle so we are in the process of getting it moved a little but you can still get through. Once the final trail is finalized, I'll re-blaze. Enjoy!
