I have been hiking in a pair of Adidas nylon shorts that I've had for ages but sadly are wearing out. I love the nylon but seem to be seeing more and more polyester blends for hiking. What do you guys and gals prefer?

Nylon when I can find it in a style I like. I have 2 pair of Columbia nylon shorts I've been wearing since 2006. You can read a book through the seat, if you cared to, as they have worn thin but never ripped. I have a pair of Ex Officio long pants, again nylon, since 2000 that are worn but still serviceable. Recently bought some off brand ( Reel Legends) nylon shorts from Bealles here in Fl and at $20 per pair I'm hoping to get years of wear.

]I hike in boardshorts, when I wear shorts.

So that would be the last week in June and the first week of July in Chicago

I like rip-stop nylon. L.L. Bean has a short called Timberledge or Timber Ridge or something like that and they are bombproof.

I wear nylon shorts all year long. When the weather gets cold, I put on long johns. Since I started this four years ago, no chafing.
