Is there phone reception at Winding Stair? I have AT&T.

AT&T is almost non existent for the first 600 miles. I only know that Verizon is good. Sorry can't help

I had ATT signal in town, not at WSG, but did again at Wayah Bald.

No problem with Verizon. Even had data service there.

When I had a lunch break there on Saturday afternoon of this past Memorial Day weekend, there was a section hiker trying to call/text his wife for pick-up. Said he was having problems making a connection. He didn't say what service he had. I got a call out that day about 1 or two miles south of WSG on an overlook. May want to call before getting down into the gap. :)
Thanks! I had arranged for a shuttle to pick my up bug now I'm a little concerned that I won't be able to reach them!:(
Making the call before descending into the gap may be the solution! I just don't want to get stranded!

I called a shuttle from there last year with only minor difficulty. I have Sprint; I doubt that I was on the Sprint network, the phone probably roamed to another network, but I don't really know...
