I shuttled a couple from Buena Vista to the trail at Route 60 last summer. They indicated that they did a night hike the night before, like almost 20 miles. The guy joked that the woman's trail name was "Mountain Dew" and she seemed embarrassed. :eek:

We Met some thru hikers at the Pearisburg Hostel & when the topic of Hike Naked Day came up one hiker admitted to hiking in only two bandannas worn kinda like a native American breech-cloth. In the hiker box, Mikey picked up a bandanna. He wore it as a scalp cap & at one break on the climb his eyes suddenly widened. He wondered if his head cover was the one used for that day.

Passed a nude hiker with my 10 year old son at Thanksgiving 2010 coming down Blood Mtn to Neels Gap. It was raining so I told my son he must have not wanted to get his clothes wet. I doubt he had any problems with bugs, but you think it would have been pretty cold for him. I guess his choice, his pain.
