Hey All,

Does anyone have a recommendations for Mid/Lightweight Hiking Shoes? My usual hikes are in Rocksylvania and my pack load is typically in the 20-30lbs range (working on lightening it up). I'm currently using a pair of ankle high, Gore-Tex Vasque boots. They are super heavy and leave my feet aching at the end of the day. I would keep them for colder weather hikes, but since I do most of my hiking in the warm/cool seasons, I need to switch. Looking for lighter weight and better foot support. Any help would be great!

Altra and Inov-8.

Not all Inov-8 though. Some are narrow. Roclite 295 & 315 seem to be okay. Terroc 330.

Foot support is more about the insole.

I bet your sore feet are more because your feet are still weak. Give them regular exercise and the time they need to adapt so you don't go from soreness to plantar fasciitis.

You might try a pair of Merrell Moab Ventilators. They come in both low and mid cut and weight about a pound each.

La Sportiva Wildcats. Breath very well and dry very quick. Hamds down best hiking shoes I have ever worn.
