Parking at I-40 heading to Hot Springs

Is there a safe place to park at the I-40 crossing area heading north to Hot Springs?

Standing Bear Farm, just a little down the gravel road. $2 a day, as of a couple of years ago. Good folks. (423) 487-0014

Left my car at Standing Bear for four days in January. Worth the $12

I left mine last summer for 5 days while I hiked the GSMNP. Well worth it.

I left my truck just beyond the Big Creek Ranger station a few years ago. I think you can still do that.

I left my truck just beyond the Big Creek Ranger station a few years ago. I think you can still do that.

We've left a vehicle at Big Creek for several days on two occasions - 1.2 miles from the AT. Never had a problem.
I understand they discourage parking at the road where the AT actually leaves the park.
