REI has the snowpeak 700 mug for 45 dollars. Campmor has it for 35. Are these the same exact mug or is one a newer model or something?

I would swy that it has to do more with the different business models of the two companies.

REI is a co-op that offers dividens to its membership based on their purchases and has a top notch return policy. In turn they price at full MSRP.

Campmore is not set up in the same manner and as a result can offer prices below retail.

With REI your dividen is a deferred discount, whereas with Campmore its an immediate discount.

I would say they are the same item.

It's not unusual to find identical items for sale on REI and Campmor, with Campmor having the better price. Part of it is like mentioned above, Campmor gives you the discount on the front end, REI gives you a discount on the back end. Sometimes, it's just a matter that one is selling this years model, one is selling last years model. Other times, it has to do with the fact that REI tends to sell at full retail because they allow you to try a product out and send it back for any reason. But Campmor's official policy is that they only accept returns on defects and merchandise in original condition.
