Wondering if theres anywhere in or near stratton maine to get canister fuel? Cant fly in with it, so gotta get some before my hike later this month

Not sure about Stratton but if you are flying into Portland, there are lots of options along the way. Farmington Maine is college town that you will drive through on the way up there and there are a couple of sporting goods stores listed. There is also a Sugarloaf Sports store listed on the web which may be an option.

If I remember correctly, there's a general store in Stratton that has a hunting/camping section, you should be fine to get one there. Most of the trail towns cater to the hiker crowd as we ARE a huge chunk of their business.

Yep. If you have any specific needs I would call Sue at the Maine Roadhouse. She's a former thru and does a lot to support hikers.
Most hikerboxes in Maine have cannisters with an ounce or two left in them. Grab a couple of those and you should be fine til the next hostel.
