I know there has been a lot of rain in that area but I gotta ask. How is the water availability in that area? I am particularly interested in the spring at Ash Gap. I heard it is intermittent. Thanks for the help.

Water is good. On average 10" of rain the first week of July.

Its a freakin Noah flood right now around NE Tennessee right now. A section of highway in Elk Park NC was just washed out. Streams in Carter Co are over flowing.

There are some fairly good sources just south of Hughes Gap. There is a reported source down the road on the TN side of Hughes Gap. The Ash Gap source is a fairly fast flowing creek behind the Ash Gap campsites. Then during the summer months the water fountains are turned on at Cloudland.

Roan is getting a better trail grade.

That's probably what the surveyor's tape was when I went through there a couple of weeks ago. Had me curious.
