So what is your favorite swiss army knife component? I ffound a stash of swiss army knives my dad collected from going to the outlet. I love this SwissCard. It has a knife, scissors( my favorite), twizzers, awl and pick. What else does one need?

My favorite is the little known Swiss Navy knife. The spoon doubles as a canoe paddle. :)

Spartan with the corkscrew. 2 small blades, bottle opener, can opener, tweezers, screwdriver. Mostly use it to slice cheese and soppressata.

This would be my favorite, because it has 85 tools, although the list price of $1400 is a bit high. For that price, it should come with its own backpack.

Ambassador model. Same tools as the Classic, but bigger, thus harder to lose.

At that size, it needs it's own backpack.

Honest if you only had these knives growing up its fine, sort of like your first fast food sandwich or driving a first car... they are great as a first knife as they are forgiving. When you want some serious quality and sharpness you find out there is better stuff out there... I have donated all my Swiss off to relatives after a sharpness whittle test... I have moved on...

I have an early-generation Fisherman that my wife bought for me in Germany 30 years ago. Still carry it every day. I bought a Leatherman Juice S2 to replace it, but seldom carry it because I'm so used to having my SAK on me.

Thanks for the inquiry Hikerboy! Yes, it can 'core a apple', and apparently can be used for spear-fishing, also. I've seen that Honeymooners episode many times, still had me in stitches this morning. Filmed in front of a live audience usually, and had real people laughing at really funny stuff, not a laughtrack added later on to tell us at home when something is supposed to be funny. Thanks for the post!!
