Hello friends and fellow backpackers I am looking for a good long loop trail that I would be able to hike this winter. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Somewhere in the southeast or california and was thinking 2-300 miles.

Joshua Tree National Park. A page of maps to get you started with your own research...

Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Rain & snow are always a possibility, depending on elevation. A circumnavigation of the park is an option.

You could hike the first 300 miles of the PCT.

An out and back trip, call it a compressed loop, is also a possibility. Given all the variables (time of day, weather, changing viewpoints), you will see things differently on each half of the trip.
Self-directed, independent research will yield the most rewarding results. You will actually Hike YOUR Own Hike!
Good luck.

Doesn't the Foothills Trail have connectors to the AT? Seems like you could form some sort of big loop that way
If you look at the G.S.M.N.P. map that I linked to above, the B.M.T. & the AT meet at the SW and NE ends of the park. There are short connecting trails between the two longer trails to tailor the total distance.
