Planning on hiking Hogpen to Dicks at the end of the month. I'm guessing 3 days to do the 30 miles. Any thoughts on this section?

I loved most of Georgia on the AT when I hiked it in the end of September last year. We had no problem averaging 12-14 miles a day. The weather was great. Water was not a problem, but it did rain a lot the first few days of the hike, possibly refilling the springs. You should check on water sources to see how things are before you go. Have a great hike.

Did this very hike in mid October last year. Took three days, tenting at Blue Mountain Shelter and Tray Mountain Shelter. Never had a problem finding water. This year has been way wetter. I don't think you'll have a problem with water. Got rained on in the beginning and on the third day, hiked through a virtual cloud of fog. Have a great hike. Nice section. :)
Hiked that section 3rd week of July. 3 days will give you a nice hike.
