Any reason for not taking the train from Union Station to Harpers Ferry and getting a shuttle south from there?
Did you ask Mike Evans if he can pick you up at HF?

Well looks like Front Royal Terrapin Hostel is closed until next year...they close after JUL 4...and only open in the Spring...
Looks like some alternate plans are in the works...

I'd look into this....
From Harper's Ferry the Tea horse Hostel could shuttle you south 54 miles.
