Cable Gap Shelter

Stopped at this shelter for the nite and wanted to give a heads up on the mouse situation! THEY are EVERYWHERE! Sat on the shelter platform to prepare dinner and they were literally dropping out of the rafters left and right! Not shy at all!
On a positive note there is a resident snake at the shelter! A 6 ft long black snake that looked to be well fed! Unfortunately he is overwhelmed and in need of help!
I personally would never sleep in any shelter but this one has one of the worse mouse infestations I've encountered on my hikes thus far!

That's sad that the bat wasn't there for ya as it was for me a few years ago. It flew in & out all night as I was holed up in that dirty OLD box for a night during a rain storm. That was early in my backpacking life & a big decision why I Do Not sleep in shelters :O)
