My wife was waiting at the trailhead when I arrived. I spent many hours perusing this forum for information about completing this journey safely and with few troubles. Even though I might not have posted a lot the I was able to learn from what I read. Thanks to each of you for posting your experience on the trail to make my trip more enjoyable.

Congrats Rod. Completing the CT is a fantastic accomplishment. Gonna get your completion certificate from them?

Maybe, although I'm already trying to decide on a journey for next summer.

For all the wife's loyalty, did you take her for a ride on the Narrow Gauge RR to Silverton?

Congrats! As you've now seen firsthand, the CT is a magnificent trail!

Paskids - What day did you start? Krewzer and I were just 2 days ahead of you on the trail. Wasn't it awesome!

I started August 4th. Magnificent seems like an understatement. The wife and I spent a few days in Silverton and then went to Durango while I attacked the last 73 miles. Friday 24 miles, Saturday 22 miles and Sunday 27 miles. I was afraid the chassis and transmission on my aching body might not hold up.

She did deserve the train ride though. When we got to the hotel in Durango I discovered my giant bean bag in the back of the family truckster. I put it in the middle of the bed and it felt like I was floating in the clouds.
