I thought I would share a recent experience with Ron Brown, who provides shuttle services along the AT in Georgia. I have never met Ron, but my husband and I recently completed a section hike from Springer to Unicoi. We left our truck at Springer and upon returning discovered we had a flat tire. We were unprepared (no tools to change the tire and no cell service) and in a very bad situation until we discovered a can of Fix A Flat that Ron left in the back of our truck. Like I said before, we have never met Ron and did not use his services, so he simply did this out of the goodness of his heart to help out fellow hikers. I think this speaks tremendously to his character. This was our first time on the AT and we were blown away by all of the kindness we encountered on the trail. Many thanks to all of those folks who go out of their way to help hikers. If you're looking for a shuttle in Georgia you should definitely call Ron Brown!

I've been telling you people for years. . . we here in Georgia are reallly not like we are sometimes portrayed on TV. ;-) We behave ourselves (mostly), and are nice to people who come here to visit! Banjos went out a long time ago.

I have used him several times and he has always been prompt, and a hoot to be with. Highly recommend him.

I'm gonna tell Ronnie what you said about banjos. He plays the banjo very well...while he drives the shuttle.

WOW... am so glad to read this great report on some real "trail magic." If I need to recommend a shuttle in Georgia, he's going to the top of the list.

It's O.K. to like banjo music and even play it. . . Just don't assume that those who do are ignorant rednecks. ; - )
