I'm on a serious budget and came across this tent a few weeks ago here: http://www.sunnysports.com/p-nfctfl2n/the-north-face-flint-2-tent I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it and maybe get some thoughts on if this would work as a backpacking tent? I'm wanting something to do local hikes of less than 40 miles next summer before I start to plan my thru-hike .

I purchased this tent in the exact same situation as you a few years back. Totally the worst $150 bucks I spent on my return to the trail from years away. I can't begin to tell you how much I hate this tent. First there is no way to exit the tent when it is raining without totally getting vestibule stuff and even the pillow area inside the tent wet. I've loaned it out a couple times and both folks returned it saying it's an awful tent. North Face equipment is crap, showroom tested only.
