It's been a while since I have done this stretch, many years. How many hiking days on average from Sam's Gap NC to 19E in Elk Park NC? How about from Spivey Gap to 19E? Late April. In above average physical hiking condition. (5, 6, 8 days ?)

75 miles.. how far do you hike in a day? If you're in above average hiking condition you can do it in 4 days easy. 2.5 days from 19E to Erwin and 1.5 days from Erwin to Sam's Gap.

You'd have more elevation loss hiking south which would make it easier.
