When McDonalds makes this frozen treat, they stick a long slender stiff spoon onto the mixer shaft and turn it on and then you get the spoon with the flurry. It is a nice spoon for reaching down into a deep bag of food and it is much more sturdy than most plastic spoons.

Good for using in a bag of trail mix with nuts + m & m 's . Got to figure out what the side hook is for .

Is that the one with the hollow square handle? I tried it but the sauce/broth/gravy ran down the inside and got all over. Didn't bother with duct tape to close it off, but it is a sturdy little puppy.

Yeah just slice off the clip thingy and I wrapped a small piece of gorilla tape around the area where the lower hole is.

McDonalds was famous for their dual-use spoons back in the 80s.

I found that Sonic Drive In has really stiff long handle spoons. Just picked up a few for my thru hike. Plus they come with a $5.00 molten lava sunday!

A cathole shovel would be right for MREs. :p

Eating an MRE was like taking Immodium for me.

FYI the hook is to keep the spoon on their mixing machine. They actually use the spoon they give you to whip it up. Multi-purpose device :)

I had to Google this to know what you guys were talking about. Looks like it'd be good for eating directly out of freezer bags as I do. Thanks!

I heard McD's changed the design to a flat blade because certain incorrigible types were using the little stirring spoons to ingest illegal powdered chemicals into their nasal cavities.

Use the McFlurry spoon to make a:

McSpork...

How to make a McSpork:

1. Buy a McFlurry and consume, (the one with the little M & M's is my favorite).

2. Keep the spoon, bring it home and wash it,

3. Cut off the little hook at the top of the handle. (I think that the hook is used to attach to the machine that mixes the McFlurry. It is easily removed with a sharp knife.),

4. Make a small hole on the back of the spoon handle, near the bottom (Highlighted in black) to allow any liquids to drain out that may get in the handle when you are eating,

5. Cut little teeth in the end of the spoon. (I used a small pair of scissors.),

( If you are using it for freezer bag cooking, omit cutting the teeth, they will puncture the freezer bag!)

6. Your McSpork is ready to use!
