09 September 2010, Gorham Slept a little late this morning but I can do that because I am taking a zero day. It looks like I will be taking a zero day again tomorrow and then heading to the top of Washington Saturday to pick back up where I left off. While I am here in Gorham I have several small drop boxes to put together. I have to put some together for East Andover, Stratton, Monson, and one for the 100 mile wilderness. I am very concerned about things ...
08 September 2010, Gorham Today I decided to take a zero day. It poured most of the night last night and it was threatening rain when I got up this morning. I was watching the weather this morning trying to plan for the day that I go back to the top of Mount Washington. As of now the best day looks like it is going to be Saturday, 11 September. That leaves me Thursday and Friday to get the Kinsmans done. We went to Lincoln today to get my other hiking pole fixed at the ...

06 September 2010, Glencliff We headed back to Glencliff today to pick up the 28 or so miles I skipped to jump ahead to meet my hut reservation that I made. Tomorrow I will slack pack south from Kinsman Notch to Glencliff going over Mt Moosiluak. The day after tomorrow I will slack pack north from Kinsman Notch to Franconia Notch. Then weather permitting I will catch a shuttle back to the summit of Mount Washington and continue northbound again. When I arrived at the ...
05 September 2010, Mount Washington While we were eating dinner last night at the hut a younger couple was just arriving at the hut during dinner. The female was not doing too well and the guy was carrying her day pack. I woke up for a bathroom break in the middle of the night and it was pretty damn windy outside. I am very glad I was not outside in that wind. If I was outside last night on this ridgeline I would not have survived. As it was I was sweating in my zero ...
